Last week I was on-site with one of our customers – a used car sales company in North Derbyshire. Whilst chatting to the company’s managing director the topic of perceived services came up – what people were expecting for their money. Cromford Cars offer an 8-point guarantee for all vehicles they sell to make sure their customers know exactly what they are getting, but this got me thinking – what do people think IT Support really is? So I asked a few people. Virtually all the Microsoft Office 365 packages include 1 TB of OneDrive storage space per user. This gives you the ability to access all your files (not just your Microsoft Office files) anywhere, on a host of different devices using a system that is certified by the EU for its security. What’s more, all of your data is fully backed up, across multiple locations. But what is 1 TB, and is that enough? The short answers to this are ‘about the same size as a standard desktop computer hard disk’ and ‘yes, it is probably plenty’, but lets find out. Firstly, lets talk about how big 1 TB is. With our new offices now up and running it was time for some of our friends to come and check it out, last Wednesday they did! After a day of spring-cleaning (only briefly interrupted by a delivery of more equipment for our private cloud demonstration platform) it was time for a glass of something fizzy to celebrate the next chapter in the Nottingham IT Support story with about 30 of our friends and business contacts. Apart from the odd glass of champers, bucks fizz or coke (for those enduring Go Sober 2014!) some fantastic food was enjoyed courtesy of The Charde Oriental Restaurant and after the official business of the ‘grand office tour’ was taken care of chatting and laughter made up the rest of the evening.
